Festival DJ nights
This summer we’re hosting weekly DJs nights with one of the most influential Scottish house DJs, Gareth Sommerville.
One of the most influential DJs in Edinburgh, Gareth’s humble demeanour belies the contribution he’s made to the capital’s club scene. Equally adept at playing a cocktail-friendly disco and boogie bar set as rolling out peak time house and disco bangers in a dark basement, It’s comes as no surprise that THE LIST described him as “Knowing the Edinburgh house scene like no other.”
He’s resided at some of Edinburgh’s most influential club nights, including a 14 year association with Cabaret Voltaire that’s seen him play the venue more than any other DJ by a considerable margin, a weekly slot at Sneaky Pete’s, helming legendary house behemoths of yore Truth, Yip Yap and Ultragroove, numerous gigs in Auld Reekie’s cooler bars, a couple of years as a Sub Club resident, almost a decade behind the decks at The Rhumba, as well as guest slots all over the UK.
What can we expect at The Printing Press? Well, seeing as Gareth is the man who first brought the likes of Dimitri From Paris, Todd Terje, Joey Negro, Rahaan, Prins Thomas, Studio 54’s Kenny Carpenter and Scottish disco don Al Kent to Edinburgh, the smart money is on a perfect soundtrack of disco and boogie being on the cards.
Festival dates: 7.30-11.30pm every Thursday from 3-31 August 2017.
